While Luke now enjoys a happily married life, he previously faced tragedies. Back in 2015, his father's sudden death caused him to meet some dark times.
As per Luke, Mark and Bonny Luke - both All-America swimmers - were the best parents anyone could ask for. They always supported his career choices and never tried to impose their ideas on Luke.
Mark's death in 2015 due to some undisclosed reasons was a shock to Luke, who mourned for his father months before finally moving on in life. However, he still misses his father and even takes inspiration from his dad's life.
