From Avid Player To Sportscaster

Maria was destined to go big in the sports field. However, she initially took the direct way of making the difference by playing herself.

Attending Centennial High School, she was introduced to the beauty of basketball and volleyball, and she became pretty inclined to it.

By the time she came of age for University, she had already clinched numbers of awards under her name. Including Fulton County Scholar-Athlete of the Year and three-time All-region Selection that got her sports scholarship at the University of Georgia in 2005.

She also made it into the 2004 USA Volleyball Junior National A2 team. Before pursuing her media career in 2008, she was an avid sportswoman and was fourth all-time in total points with 2,020 points by the end of her career. 

She started her career as a regular in CSS’s volleyball broadcasts after graduation.

Since then, she has never looked back climbing stairs after stairs from sideline reporter on ESPN2 to a college analyst and football reporter on the SEC Network since 2014.

The sportscaster has had a quiet personal life to this date remaining away from publicizing her relationship status and others. Despite having the microphone glued to her all the time, it is ironical how her private details fail to be breached.

Fans are sure to get a shock from the news, but Maria Taylor is finally married. Keeping a low dating profile for the past half-decade, the analyst - host has finally revealed her relationship status with no detail left to spare.

Maria tied the knot with boyfriend turned husband Rodney Blackstock - the director of sports marketing at Q4 SPORTS. Surprisingly enough the duo met back in 2014. As the ESPN anchor was watching a game of the Charlotte Hornets, her eyes caught an attractive stranger in the arena.

Interestingly, Maria also caught the attention of Rodney. He was on the game asking his friend whether she played for the WNBA in Charlotte. Furthermore, the pair got the chance to connect in the back room of the same game.

It was love at first sight. The two ended up talking all night.

Only eight months into the relationship and Maria was surprised by a proposal. The first of the proposal wasn't a success. Maria felt that the duo was rushing into things and wasn't ready to be husband and wife.

Three years from that moment, the second proposal came at a hike in L.A.Rodney proposed with a halo floral-inspired ring and this time Maria was ready to get married.

Maria and husband Rodney tied the knot on a beach wedding on 5 May 2019 in the company of friends and family members.

Maria Taylor Hyatt (born May 12, 1987) is an analyst and host for ESPN and the SEC Network. She covers all football, college volleyball, and basketball-related issues and news for both men and women.

She was born to FBI agent father and loving mother. Her brilliant old man retired from the high profile organization on 9th January 2015 after 27 years long of service.

For education, Maria attended Centennial High School and was decorated with many awards such as Fulton County Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Offensive MVP of her High School volleyball team for three years, a three-time All-Region Selection, and being named All-State as a senior.

Maria was also a member of the 2004 USA Volleyball Junior National A2 team. Currently, she is in her third season as a college analyst & reporter since she joined the SEC Network in 2014.
