Following a charge of domestic violence/battery and false imprisonment, Andrea's husband was arrested on 29 May 2019, by the Shreveport police. He was caught nine months after his arrest warrant.

The husband of MMA fighter allegedly tried to put out a cigarette on Andrea and chocked her during their argument regarding UFC 227. Her then housemate, Andy Nguyen, reported the whole incident to the police and from then Donny was on the run.
