Actor James Burrows, who plays Dr. Ali Neeson in the ITV drama Coronation Street, is all set to take his most significant role till date -Â that of a father.

Expecting Baby Girl With Girlfriend
In October 2018, James shared that his girlfriend, Sophie Coates was pregnant with their first child.

Taking to Instagram, he uploaded a snap of the baby's sonogram and a caption, which read:-
"Me and my beautiful girlfriend @sophie_coates are over the moon to announce that we’re having a baby. We can not contain our excitement we are so so happy x"
Five months later, in an exclusive interview with OK! Magazine, the Coronation Street star revealed that his first ever kid was going to be a baby girl.Â

According to James, he learned about the baby's gender at 7:30 in the morning of March 2019 while on the set of the beloved ITV soap's set. Moreover, the expecting father professed an excitement as well as eagerness with the prospect of having a daughter.
It's interesting to note that the lovebirds had only started trying to conceive a baby weeks before.
Halts Wedding Plans
While the couple conceiving a baby was a pleasant surprise, it did a problem of a different kind.

Before learning about the pregnancy, James - as told to OK! Magazine - contemplated about getting engaged to his girlfriend, Sophie. He was going to do so while on their then-upcoming trip to Australia in November 2018.
But the pregnancy confirmation foiled his plans of getting married. Opening about the possibility of marriage, he explained:-
"I'd liked to have got engaged before now. I was going to ask Sophie in Australia when we were visiting my family last November but then we found out we were expecting."
James' wedding plans with his longtime wife Sophie prospect may be on the hold for the moment, but the pair - who have been dating since 2016 - is far from calling it quits.
