At the age of 53, she is one of the most acclaimed News Anchor in the journalism world. Having an eloquent on-screen personality, she has been quite an inspiration for those who work hard on news career. A fun fact, Lori Stokes is known as one of the African-American firsts as she was the first African-American to broadcast on MSNCB in 1996.

As much success, she is getting in her professional career, not the same happened with her personal life. To be exact, we are talking about her her married life.

Lori Stokes was to be married to Brian Thompson. According to a source, they first met at the job interview for CBC affiliate WBTV, Charlotte two years before their marriage.

The two of them were a great and adorable couple and they even have two beautiful daughters named Nicolette Thompson and Alexandra Thompson. Both the daughters are grown up now and are extremely beautiful.

Almost every person who knew about the divorce, they were all in a dilemma. The couples seemed so great together that nobody thought they were to contemplate about divorce someday and even go through it.

Nobody knows the real reason behind their divorce except the Thompson family. Both the daughters are staying with their mother Lori though the daughters use Brian’s name i.e. “Thompson”

We looked up to Lori’s social accounts and it shows that the mother and daughters are happy together and enjoying each other’s company. Here are some of Lori’s social posts related to her family.

So, did you know that Lori Stokes father was also a well-known figure? His name is Louis Stokes who was a democratic person who was also one of the firsts as he was the first African-American congressman from Ohio.

He, in his days as a congressman, helped to direct the federal attention on the nation’s poor and he also led a special House investigation into the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sadly, Louis Stokes died on August 18, 2015, at the age of 90. Lori Stokes said that the cause of his death was lungs and brain cancer.

Knowing about her father leaves no confusion about where she got the inspiration and talents from.

Well, talking about her divorce with Brian, whatever the reason was behind their divorce we do not know it. What we do know is that they ended their marriage on good terms. Here is a twitter post from Christmas Eve of 2014 when both ex-husband and wife celebrated their traditional Christmas Eve dinner.
