Whitney was born to his mother Patricia and her first husband Lon Hayes Smith on June 2, 1968.
However, Whitney's parent's marriage could only survive for fourteen years, but they didn't share any acrimony between them. The divorce of Patricia and her husband was civilized, and their biggest concern was their son, Whitney.
Whitney's parents co-parented him, and they managed to have a seamless co-parenting schedule. Patrica wrote in her book The Art of Southern Charm about her relationship with Whitney's father, Lon as,
"Lon and I spoke frequently and were pleasant, respectful, and harmonious. There was nothing pernicious about our relationship at the time, and we're still that way after all these years."
After the separation from her first husband, Patricia tied the knot with Edward Sitt Fleming, and the pair remained married from 1989 to 1995. Further, she got married to an American banking mogul, Arthur Altschul; but sadly, Arthur died in 2002 at the age of 81.
Whitney, who enjoys a net worth of $2 million, is known to mass as a filmmaker, guitarist and reality television personality. He was also a businessman, who would find his joy and pride in his restaurant which has a concept of a French-Mexican eatery.
