The lovebirds started dating in 2017, after meeting when Emma hosted SNL towards the end of 2016 and also appeared in the SNL sketch, Wells for Boys- directed by Dave. They were always fairly private about their relationship but were still seen together every now and then in public.

The news was long-awaited as the duo were rumored to be engaged in April 2018 when the La La Land actress was spotted with a diamond ring. However, she cleared the air saying that she wasn’t engaged yet in January 2019 through The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

The director was born on 2 July 1985 in San Diego, California. There isn’t much information about who his parents are as the director likes to live a low key life.
Talking about his education, he went to the University of Southern California but when or what he graduated from is a mystery to all.
To pursue his dream of becoming a director, Dave first wrote and directed a bunch of short films from 2007 to 2009 such as My Mom’s a MILF, Is My Roommate Gay?, Outrageous Fun, 420 Disaster, and This Is How We Trip. Furthermore, in 2007, he co-created a comedy sketch group called Good Neighbor.
Eventually, in 2010, he directed the TV series called Epic Rap Battles of History. And in 2011, he directed another TV show called Fresh Perspectives.
When he started directing the hit show Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 2016, his fame started growing. Dave also directed SNL Shorts and SNL’s NFL Saturday in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
