Mike Holmes, Previously Married to Alexandra, Referred Anna As Wife: Starting a Family?

When a tragedy befalls in someone's life, they might feel that they will never be able to bounce back from the trauma. But as time passes gradually, the wounds start to heal, and everything starts getting normal.

Canadian Television personality/ business contractor Mike Holmes once faced a heavy loss in business, and at the same time, he also suffered a tragic divorce from his children's mother. But now, he enjoys a successful life with his longtime girlfriend.

Is Mike Holmes Married To Anna Zappia? 

A heterosexual man, Mike Holmes has been involved in a committed relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Anna Zappia, since 2000.

Mike believes that romance isn’t limited to an affair between two unmarried individuals. Further, Mike claims that Anna is not just his girlfriend but a perfect companion. Even though the pair is not married, Mike loves to refer to Anna as his wife.

With Mike describing Anna as his wife, fans assume that the couple is set to get married and start a family. However, as the pair have confirmed nothing, it may be too soon to make an assumption.

The happy and prosperous Mike, we see nowadays was not the same a few decades ago. He has faced some tragic moments in his life. The hard moments probably shaped him to become the better person that he is today.

Mike Holmes married his childhood sweetheart Alexandra Lorex in 1982 when he was just 19 years old. 

The teenage lovebirds shared a beautiful conjugal relationship until they remained together as husband and wife.

As all good things must come to an end, Mike's professional and personal life both got hit hard in the 1990s as the recession occurred all around the world and his entire business crumbled. Mike's company went bankrupt, and he became compelled to sell the business and cut the employees number.

Besides that, his decade-long marriage with Alexandra ended up in divorce when he was 30.

After four years of marriage, Alexandra gave birth to the couple's first child, and Mike became the father to a baby daughter named Amanda. Later, the former beaus conceived two more children: daughter Sherry and son Mike Jr.

His son Mike Jr. is married to a health coach and herbalist, Lisa Grant. They first met in high school and dated for a couple of months in 2006. 

After almost a decade of togetherness, they exchanged vows on 14 August 2017. It was an intimate wedding in Ontario's Blue Mountain region.  

Talking about Sherry Holmes, she is married to her husband, Blake Steed. They got engaged back in June 2017 as per her Instagram post. A year later, they exchanged vows and became husband and wife. They also have a child together named Cali Kay Holmes Steed. 

But, there is not much information on the internet about Mike's first daughter, Amanda Holmes.

However, some sites claim that Amanda has twice in her life. First, she got married to one of the co-workers of the Holmes on Homes, named Adam Belange. They could not hold onto their relationship, so they divorced. As of now, she is married to a man whose identity is a mystery. She has a son and a daughter. Her son, Wyatt, was born in October 2010, while her daughter Emily was born a few years later.  

It is unclear whether she had her children with her first husband or second; what needs more clarification/ official confirmation is whether Amanda is actually married or not.       

Handing Over Company To Son; Daughters Equally Important

Mike, who got sued by his former CEO for an astounding amount of $3.1 million in 2014, has been making plans to retire from TV.

Lately, he has been thinking of handing over his company to his son, Mike "MJ" Holmes Jr., who has repeatedly featured on his father's show. Mike Jr. said with Ottawa Citizen while claiming the rights to his father's inheritance,

"We share the same blood, the same passion. Who better to carry on the legacy?"

However, handling the company is not going to be a walk in the park for Junior as Mike claims, not everyone is made to handle a career in the television and that too building homes. But, Mike Jr. has his two adorable sisters: Lisa and Sherry, to help him in his upcoming days.

Mike's daughters have previously helped their father with his work. Lisa has always been a magician behind the camera. In contrast, Sherry, who was previously not interested in her father's business, has now become an active contributor to her dad's show after she joined him to build shelters for the Hurricane Katrina victims.

Together the three siblings may take their father's innovation to a higher level. Although Mike's absence will create a deep hole in fans' hearts, his legacy will be carried forward by his children. Also, he has not made any immediate plans to retire, so he may very well be available on TV for a few years more.

Mike has accumulated a net worth of $30 million from his career as a contractor and television personality. 

Mike, a supporter of eco-friendly homes, recently gave his approval to the Smartcool ECOHomes, which are developed by Smartcool Systems Inc. After his approval, the houses are added to the Making it Right Holmes approved product list, which implies that Mike has full trust in the housing development project and the manufacturers' technology. The housing project uses an efficient air conditioning system, which reduces electricity consumption, eventually causing a reduction in the bills. The technology consists of a cooling system controller, a microprocessor, and software which manages the cooling system.

Further, he has also established a charity organization called The Holmes Foundation, from which he provides scholarships equally to men and women interested in learning some skills. Anna and Mike jointly run the foundation.
