Marriages are not always successful. The person you finally chose as your soulmate turn out to be a stranger after so many years.

Matt Leur, the American television journalist, has a similar story. Popular as the host of NBC's The Today Show, Matt has not been married once but twice. Today, we are going talk about Matt Leur’s married life, family, and affairs.

His First Marriage With Emmy Award Winning Producer Nancy Alspaugh:

Her husband, H.Read Jackson, recently died in 2016 at age 71. He was a longtime executive at Fox Sports Net. He had also served as a producer for 60 Minutes and ABC World News Tonight.

Matt married to Nancy in the year 1982. Nancy, his first wife, was a high-powered television procedure at that time. The couple split up after seven years of marriage with no children.

After Divorced with Nancy, Matt Married to Annette Roque:

In 1998, Matt married Annette Roque, who is a model by her profession. Annette gave birth to three kids named as Jack Matthew Lauer(2001), Romy(2003), Thijs(2006).

Due to the sourness in their relationship, Matt's wife Annette was compelled to file for a divorce in 2006. According to the divorce papers, Matt was not only cruel and inhuman to his wife but also exhibited aggressive behavior towards her. The divorce paper also blames him for giving more priority to his job rather than his children and wife.

However, the papers were ultimately withdrawn three weeks after they were filed.

The couple celebrated their 16- year wedding anniversary in 2014. Then, the rumors about Matt being unfaithful to his wife were all over the tabloids.

Likewise, Matt had Many Rumors about his Multiple Affairs?

You might not know he was briefly linked to newscaster Kristen Gesswein in 1996.

He was also rumored to be in an affair with Italian-born American chef, writer and television personality, Giada De Laurentiis. However, he denied his affairs with Giada. In an interview with inquisitr.com, he said,

“There is no truth to that story. From the horse’s mouth we have been friends for ten years and more importantly, I feel bad for what she has been going through"

Criticism Over Clinton-Trump Forum:

On 7 September 2016, Matt Lauer had an opportunity to prove his broadcasting tenacity on the presidential stage at the Wednesday’s forum in Manhattan. But the consensus ended with not so god response. Matt, who had a live prime-time forum with Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump, was accused of unfairness, sexism, and sloppiness.

Matt questioned Mrs. Clinton about her use of a private email server. He even raised the weighty topics like domestic terror attacks. Mr. Lauer also interjected an Army veteran in the audience and asked her to explain her plan to defeat the Islamic State.

Matt Lauer and Megyn Kelly, Today's Finest:

With the Departure of Tamron Hall from Today, there's a huge power vacuum when it comes to the Aces of Today. And the most favored choices to replace Tamron Hall and Savannah Guthrie is regarded to be Matt Lauer and Megyn Kelly
Today insiders have revealed that there is a high chance that Megyn Kelly and Matt Lauer will be the faces of NBC morning show and Guthrie might be given a new role, maybe even replace Tamron hall.

A source was quoted saying,

"If you’re Savannah, you’re looking over your shoulder every minute. The first time Savannah is out, Megyn will fill in, sitting next to Matt Lauer and NBC will go to great lengths to capitalize on it. It doesn’t make sense to pay Megyn that kind of money unless she’s on at 7 a.m.,”

We have yet to see the conclusion and so far these are all speculations but so far, the duo of Megyn Kelly and Matt Lauer doesn't seem that bad, especially since Matt has talked about his close relationship between him and Megyn. But there's certainly a high chance that Matt and Megyn might be the faces of the future of Today.
