But their life turned upside down when Remy was convicted of assault, illegal weapon possession, and attempted coercion and sentenced to eight years jail sentence in 2007.

Even with the jail bars between them, the couple got married on 12th May 2008 over the phone. During Remy's time in jail, her husband stood by her side; he made sure to visit her regularly throughout her first year in the prison until Remy herself asked him not to. 

Later, the couple held the wedding ceremony in 2016, after Remy's release from prison.

Further, on the occasion of their 10th wedding anniversary in 2018, the star and Remy renewed their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony in front of their closest friends and family members.
