The MasterChef and Hell’s Kitchen star Gary Rhodes died at the age of 59, on 26th November 2019.

The celebrity chef's wife, Jennie, was at his bedside when he passed away in Dubai.

Gary( born on 22nd April 1960) had arrived in Dubai in 2007, and the legend was living there since 2011 - a place where he owned two restaurants, Grosvenor House Dubai and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa

The chef’s death brought extreme grief to his fans and family, including his two children - Samuel and George. His family, after his death, released a statement in which they said,

The Rhodes family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of beloved husband, father and brother, Gary Rhodes OBE. Gary passed away last evening, Tuesday 26th November 2019, at the age of 59, with his beloved wife Jennie by his side. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and ask for privacy during this time.

The death of Gary has shocked the world of food fanatics. Many celebrities have already released statements recognizing the loss that Gary’s death has brought into the world of culinary arts.

Famous British chef, Gordon Ramsay, too, expressed his condolences at the death of Gary. He said,

Later Gary's restaurants, Grosvenor House Dubai and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa said in a statement,

The team are devastated to hear of the tragic passing of Chef Gary Rhodes OBE. Not only has the industry lost a true culinary legend, we have also lost an inspirational human being and a very dear friend. No words can express our sadness at Gary’s death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rhodes family.

Gary, mostly distinguished by his spiky hair, was a respected individual in the culinary world, with appearances on MasterChef, Hell’s Kitchen, and Rhodes Around Britain. He even was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.

The shockwaves his death produced is justified seeing his dedication to his job. He was working in his restaurant until the day he died, that is, Tuesday.

Gary's Married Life & Children

Gary met the love of his life, wife Jennie, during his time in a catering college in Thanet. They married in 1989 and shared a 30-year marriage. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2019.

Gary revealed he was making between eight and ten trips to and from Dubai to be with Jennie before she decided to join him permanently there. The couple had two children from their marriage - Samuel and George Rhodes.
