Maksim Chmerkovskiy And Girlfriend-Turned-Partner Get Married! See Glimpse of Their Wedding

The Dancing with the Stars pair Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his girlfriend-turned-partner Peta Murgatroyd are now married.

The couple, who welcomed their first baby Shai Aleksander Chmerkovskiy earlier this year on 4th January, got married on July 8 on Saturday at Oheka Castle in Long Island, New York.

Talking about the wedding and its venue to PEOPLE in May, Murgatroyd said that they had a clear vision of their marriage. She explained-

“Maks has loved this place for years and I took on the suggestion and I fell in love with it immediately.”

Thirty-year-old dancer Peta Murgatroyd, who tied the knot with her partner in an ivory wedding dress, now says-

“I had never thought of being married in a castle, but my jaw dropped when I first saw it. I didn’t want a stark white dress. I just love the old-fashioned feel of the ivory. Especially against the castle, I didn’t want stark white. I think it’s more sleek, in a way.”

Maksim Chmerkovskiy also talked about their big day where he said-

“Everything is going to be crème and black and white. There’s going to be hardly any color.”

He revealed that they were planning-

 “a massive floor-to-ceiling wall of real flowers” at the back of the reception ballroom and “massive arrangements” on each table as well as another hanging from the ceiling.

The bride, who is now Chmerkovskiy’s wife, added-

“There are so many flowers and candles and crystals everywhere. I wanted the entire celebration to be super-chic and glamorous. I just wanted it to be just so pure and gorgeous.”

She continued-

“I can’t speak for every girl, but when you first step onto that runway and see the love of your life at the end of the path waiting for you, I think that’s going to be a moment that I’ve always waited for — just to see his face. I’ve always wanted to get married — and only get married once — so this is really special moment for me.”

The pair exchanged vows in front of their family and guests; Tony Dovolani, Sharna Burgess, Rumer Willis, Jenna Johnson, Candace Cameron Bure, and Nyle DiMarco.

Fellow DWTS pro and Chmerkovskiy’s brother, Val Chmerkovskiy served as best man, while Shai Aleksander Chmerkovskiy, their six-months-old son, served as the “prince of honor” at their wedding.

The best part of Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd’s wedding was their first dance, which was subtle and slow for pros but was beautiful.
