Another day, another high profile Hollywood breakup!
Saturday Night Live's very own Pete Davidson & his fiancee, Ariana Grande have called off their engagement!
Pete, age 24, and Ariana, age 25, broke off their four months long engagement over the weekend as per a report by TMZ.
TMZ in its report quoted sources close to the former couple, who claimed that both Pete and Ariana had acknowledged that it wasn't "the right time for their relationship" before deciding to call it quits.

The same source added that Pete and his former fiancee still have "a lot of love for each other" despite their split.
All the signs pointed towards a beautiful married life between the former flames. But alas! It wasn't meant to be.

A week after TMZ first broke the news, Pete finally broke the silence on his split from then-girlfriend Ariana as he acknowledged their breakup during his comedy set in Los Angeles at Judd and Pete for America.
In his lengthy monologue, the comedian made jokes mostly at his own expense for getting a tattoo dedicated to her former fiancee. The 24-year-old SNL personality joked:
"I was like … ‘I’m not stupid,’ and tonight [my friend and I] were in my kitchen and he was like, ‘Yo, bro. Turns out, you were stupid.’”
Pete transformed a previously tatted bunny into a heart-shaped piece in Ariana's name while did the same by inking her ring finger with Pete's name.
Not just Pete, Ariana appears to be ashamed of her tattoo as well. Recently, she covered her ink with a band-aid during his first performance since the release of the TMZ report.

The TMZ report comes days after Ariana had announced that she was taking a temporary break from music. Following her announcement, she received widespread criticism from her fans who dubbed her "lazy." And to which, she merely replied:
"can I pls have one okay day. just one. pls"
2018 has been somewhat a problematic year for Ariana. Between her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller dying of an accidental drug overdose to being groped at the Aretha Franklin memorial, the God is a Woman hitmaker kept making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
She vented her frustrations via Twitter soon after Mac Miller's passing. The tweet read:
"I'm trying to get my work done and get back to normal and it's hard and I'm human and tired!"
Before dating the Self Care rapper, Ariana was in a high profile relationship with Detroit rapper Big Sean. As for Pete, he had previously dated fellow industry stars including stand-up comedian Carly Aquilino, and Half Empty actress Cazzie David.

Following the split with their respective partners, Pete and his then-girlfriend Ariana got together in May of 2018, only to announce that they had got engaged a few weeks later.
The engagement ring which Pete used at the time of proposal is reportedly worth $100 thousand. Sources close to the couple claimed that Ariana has since returned the ring to Pete.
Not long after getting engaged, Pete and Ariana moved to $16 million New York City apartment. Ironically, their one time New York City love nest was one of Pete's centerpieces during his stand-up at Judd and Pete for America. The comedian referenced it by asking the audiences:
“Anybody have any open rooms? I’m looking for a roommate.”
It's nice to know that the SNL star hasn't lost his comedic touch even after seeing the romance die.
